On 19 and 20 January 2006, the annual Partnership for Peace (PfP) Planning Symposium will be hosted at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany.

The theme of the Symposium is “The Partnership Agenda before the NATO Summits: Cooperation, Reform, Education & Training”.

This annual flagship event will be attended by more than 250 participants representing more than fifty countries. The EU and OSCE, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, as well as Mediterranean Dialogue and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries will all be represented at the event.

Ambassador Martin Erdmann, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, will chair the Symposium. This year’s keynote address on “NATO Transformation and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership” will be delivered by Ambassador Victoria Nuland, US Permanent Representative to NATO.

During the Symposium, the NATO School will organize a “marketplace” of NATO and PfP education and training institutions. The aim of this marketplace is to give invited institutions the opportunity to promote their achievements, advertise their activities, and highlight their mutual cooperation.
