Special logistics training for NATO and partners
Over 200 students from NATO, partner and Mediterranean Dialogue countries attended the first edition of a recently revised logistics training programme at the NATO School, Oberammergau, 28 November to 9 December 2005. The intense, two-week programme aims to prepare logistics personnel from NATO, Partnership for Peace and Mediterranean Dialogue countries for working together in support of Alliance missions and operations. Topics covered included supporting the NATO Response Force and possible future expeditionary missions, as well as sustaining the Alliance's current operations. The course, taught at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany, was recently reworked in cooperation with NATO’s Alliance Command Transformation. Aiming for interoperability Efforts aimed at ensuring that NATO and partner forces can work together in Alliance-led peacekeeping operations are a key aspect of NATO’s cooperation with partners. Partner countries regularly contribute to the Alliance’s missions in the Balkans, Afghanistan, and NATO’s assistance to the African Union in Sudan.
