NATO Librarian recommends
In a new monthly series, the NATO Librarian recommends books of relevance to the issues on NATO’s agenda, starting with “Philosophy in a Time of Terror” for September. In the book, Giovanna Borradori interviews philosophers Jacques Derrida and Juergen Habermas on the 11 September attacks against the United States, a few weeks after the event. Insight and reflectionIn two separate dialogues, they discuss the notions and contexts behind seemingly self-evident terms such as “terror”, “terrorism” and even “9/11”. “At a time when we are faced with a continuing terrorist threat, and when our democratic societies must deal with these challenges the book gives us additional insight into these complex notions,” says Jean-Arthur Creff, the NATO Librarian. The NATO Library also offers thematic bibliographies of recommended reading on key international security issues. |
