The third biannual Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD) exhibition took place at NATO Headquarters on the 27 and 28 April 2005, in parallel to the spring 2005 CNAD meeting.

The exhibition, entitled “ Safe Horizons - Shielding NATO Aircraft”, focused on technologies and equipment able to help protect a wide range of aircraft from ground-based terrorist threats, in particular man-portable air defence systems and rocket propelled grenades.

At the exhibition, companies from the 26 member countries displayed the latest technologies and hardware relating to this subject.

The CNAD is the senior NATO committee responsible for armaments co-operation, material standardisation and defence procurement matters.

It meets twice a year at NATO Headquarters, bringing together senior officials responsible for armaments procurement from the 26 NATO countries.
