On 13 April NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer received a painting from Child Ambassador Stefan Pleskonjik of the “The First Children’s Embassy in the World”.

The young artist is not a newcomer to NATO. At the age of five, an exhibition of his paintings was held at NATO Headquarters and Mr. Pleskonjik met with the then NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson. He was the first child to be formally received by a NATO Secretary General.

The “First Children’s Embassy in the World” represents an international non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit humanitarian association for the care of children and children's rights.
