This was Mr. Zoellick’s first visit to NATO following his appointment as the US Deputy Secretary of State. He discussed and exchanged views with the Council on a broad range of issues, including on recent developments in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the Middle East peace process and the situation in the Darfur region of Sudan.
