NATO pays homage to disaster victims in Asia

At its first meeting of 2005, the North Atlantic Council - NATO's top political
decision-making body - started with one-minute's silence in honour
of the victims of the recent tsunami that hit Asia.
On the same day, 5 January, at noon a three minutes' silence was observed by
the entire staff at NATO HQ in Brussels and all flags flew at half
mast outside the main entrance of the building.
