NATO's Role in Kosovo

Harri Holkeri, the Special Representative of the United Nations for Kosovo, visited NATO on 7 April to brief the North Atlantic Council on the situation in the province following the recent violence.

Mr. Holkeri briefed the Council together with Admiral Gregory Johnson, Commander of Joint Force Command Naples, the NATO command responsible for the Alliance-led Kosovo peacekeeping force (KFOR).

Mr. Holkeri and Admiral Johnson briefed the Council on the current situation in Kosovo and had an exchange of views with the Ambassadors on what KFOR can do to ensure security in the province, particularly following the disturbances three weeks ago.
