PfP course on international rescue operations

From 12-23 May 2003, the Swedish Rescue Services Agency will be holding a Partnership for Peace (PfP) course on international rescue operations in Revinge, Sweden.

This course aims to contribute to the participant's ability to organise, implement and take part in international rescue operations, in all types of disaster situations. It will cover a wide array of issues ranging from presentations on humanitarian law in armed conflicts and cultural awareness, to more practical aspects such as teambuilding, finding information on the Internet, or sharing national experiences. The deadline for applications is 12 March 2003.

The Swedish Rescue Services Agency is the central supervisory government authority for rescue services. Its main objective is to improve accident prevention and response, and limit injury and damage in the event of an incident. It organises PfP courses as part of Sweden's Individual Partnership Programme.
