Bichkek conference on security issues in Central Asia The modernisation of military and political collaboration in Central Asia was the focus of a regional conference held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on 22 November. The conference examined existing and new challenges to political and military collaboration in Central Asia and how new technologies could be used to overcome these challenges. Participants included Kyrgyz and international experts, as well as Kyrgyz government officials, representatives of NGOs and the academic community. The conference was organised by the Center for Study of Globalization Problems and was co-sponsored by the NATO Office of Information and Press.
