Franco-Russian strategic forum
Current international issues were discussed at the second Franco-Russian strategic forum to be organised by the Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (IRIS), Paris, and the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.
The event, which was also co-sponsored by NATO, was held on 15-16 November and consisted of a series of round tables on specific themes: France and Russia and the challenges of EU and NATO enlargement, the future of Franco-Russian commercial relations, cooperation in the field of energy and the issue of Iraq.
The first strategic forum took place earlier in the year, on 8-9 February. In parallel, similar events have been organised on Franco-Ukrainian relations. This month's forum brought together participants from French and Russian political, diplomatic and academic circles, as well as from industry, the military, NATO, the EU and the media.
