Croatian Foreign Minister visits NATO HQCroatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula was at NATO Headquarters on 8 May for a meeting with NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson and the North Atlantic Council - NATO's top decision-making body. The Foreign Minister briefed Lord Robertson and the 19 NATO Permanent Representatives on Croatia's current political situation, including progress made in the country's wide-ranging reform programme. Specific issues relating to advancements in the framework of Croatia's Intensified Dialogue with NATO were also discussed. Croatia has been a member of the Partnership for Peace (PfP) and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) since Spring 2000. Croatia engages in many cooperative activities with NATO ranging from defence reform and combined military exercises to civil emergency planning and peacekeeping operations. |
