Relations between Russia, NATO and the EU The fourth "Winter Academy" is taking place from 18 February to 1 March and is focusing this year on the inter-relationship between Russia, NATO and the European Union (EU). The Winter Academy is a combination of lectures and seminars where participants can benefit from a direct contact with leading security experts and understand the different approaches to international security currently being developed. Young postgraduate students from all over Russia, as well as from countries of Central and Eastern Europe, are given the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with high-level speakers. This year, the speakers came from Russian research institutes, NATO and the EU. The Winter Academy is organised by the Moscow-based Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences (INION), which belongs to the Russian Academy of Sciences.
