Arrests
in Kosovo
"One of the main priorities of the international community
is to re-establish the rule of law as the cornerstone of a democratic
society in Kosovo", Lord Robertson stressed in a statement
on the arrest of three members of the former Kosovo Liberation
Army. Latif Gashi, Naim Kadriu and Nazif Mehmeti were arrested
by the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK),
with the assistance of the NATO-led peacekeeping force, KFOR.
Lord Robertson strongly underlined NATO's support for the arrest,
which took place on 6 February, a week before the trial of Slobodan
Milosevic started in The Hague.
