Deployment of HQ of Task Force Harvest authorised

On 15 August, two days after the signature of the political framework agreement between the different party representatives of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (1), introducing internal reforms and allowing the entry of NATO-led troops into the country to disarm ethnic Albanian rebels, NATO authorised the deployment of the Headquarters of Task Force Harvest on the ground. The Headquarters and other elements of the mission will be put into place in preparation for a potential deployment of NATO troops as part of Operation Essential Harvest.

Dragan Jokic surrenders himself to SFOR troops

The Chief of Engineering of the Drina Corps 1st Zvornik Brigade, Dragan Jokic, indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia, surrendered himself to SFOR troops, 15 August. He is accused of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war, having participated in the Srebrenica massacre and attacked UN observation posts.
