Visit
of Dr Mitreva a day after signing of cease-fire
The day following the signing of a cease-fire between parties
in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (1),
Dr Ilinka Mitreva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the
former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (1)
came to NATO HQ to meet with NATO Secretary General Lord
Robertson, 6 July.
At a joint press conference, Lord Robertson warmly praised
President Trajkovski for having acted "with enormous
political courage and skill in taking his country through
one of its darkest moments". Foreign Minister
Mitreva added that the cease-fire would help progress
in the political dialogue between parties and create an
atmosphere for early and substantial results.
