Exercise
Clean Hunter 2001
|

A live-flying NATO exercise called Exercise Clean Hunter 2001 is
taking place, 18-29 June, over northern Europe and northern France.
This annual event aims to exercise Allied Air Forces North Headquarters,
based in Germany, and its subordinate combined air operations centres,
maintaining their professionalism in planning and conducting co-ordinated
live air operations.

in the United States

Lord Robertson travelled to Chicago and Washington, 19-20 June, before
attending the annual seminar organised by the Supreme Allied Commander,
Atlantic (SACLANT), Norfolk, Virginia, 21-22 June, which focused this
year on NATO military capabilities.

The North Atlantic Council issued a statement on 20 June responding
to the request of President Trajkovski of the former Yugloslav Republic
of Macedonia (1), that NATO assist
his government in demilitarising the National Liberation Army (NLA)
and disarming the ethnic Albanian extremists operating on the territory
of this country.

paid an official visit to the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers
Europe, in Mons on 21 June.

NATO announces the award of 33 NATO-EAPC Research Fellowships to citizens of EAPC member nations, the award of two Institutional Fellowships to citizens of the Mediterranean Dialogue member states, and the award of the 2001-2003 Manfred Wrner Fellowship.
