Informal meeting of Foreign Ministers

Brussels – Tuesday 19 August 2008

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council (“the Council”), at the level of Foreign Ministers, will be held at NATO Headquarters on Tuesday, 19 August 2008 from 10:00.

ACCREDITATION

Media representatives will receive their accreditation at the entrance to the NATO compound from 07:00 on presentation of a valid press card and identity documents. Media representatives who do not hold a valid press card must contact NATO (see e-mail address below) by 20:00 on Monday 18 August 2008 . Journalists who are permanently accredited to NATO need not request special accreditation.

PROGRAMME AND POOLS

The arrival of the ministers and the press conferences do not require a pool card. The initial Tour de table of the Council meeting will be broadcast live on the internal closed-circuit television system, and can be followed from the press working area. Media representatives who wish to cover the Tour de table from inside the conference room may make a written request for a pool card to the e-mail address indicated at the end of this advisory. No confirmation will be sent. Photographers and cameramen who have requested pool cards by 20:00 on Monday 18 August 2008 will be able to collect them from the information counter of the Media Centre on Tuesday 19 August from 8:00.

By accepting a pool card, cameramen and photographers undertake to share their images on request with colleagues who have not had direct access to the conference room.

The NATO photographers and cameramen will make available the audiovisual sequences of all the events intended for the media on the NATO website. These sequences can also be obtained by contacting the TV and Radio Unit.

Parking

Media representatives are informed that they will not be able to park their vehicles inside the NATO compound. They may leave them on the east and west parking areas outside the main entrance. Outside broadcasting (O.B.) vans for uplink satellite transmissions will park on a special section of the eastern external car park, or on car park H, on request.
