Appointment of new Supreme Allied Commander Transformation

NATO today announced the appointment of Lieutenant General James N. Mattis as Supreme Allied Commander Transformation.  Lieutenant General Mattis is currently serving as Commander, US Marine Corps Forces Central Command and Commanding General, I Marine Expeditionary Force. 

He has also been nominated  Commander, United States Joint Forces Command.  With the advice and consent of the United States Senate, the President will appoint Lieutenant General Mattis to the grade of General while serving in these positions.
