Statement by the Secretary General
on the attacks in Algeria

On behalf of NATO, I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks that have taken place in Algiers.  I wish to extend my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the Algerian Government and the Algerian people and in particular to the families of the victims.

There can never be any justification for this violence and NATO will continue to work with Algeria, our Mediterranean Dialogue partner, and the entire international community to help combat the scourge of terrorism.
