Visit by NATO’s Secretary General, Mr Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to London, Thursday, 19 October 2006 The Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer will visit London on Thursday 19 October 2006 to meet with Prime Minister Tony Blair to discuss the upcoming NATO Summit meeting in Riga in November and other NATO issues. He will also host the NATO Secretary General’s Successor Generation Conference on “Meeting Global Challenges”, co-organised by the London School of Economics and the City of London, which will revolve around three topics: 21 st Century Challenges for the Transatlantic Alliance; Energy Security; Meeting Global Security Challenges Together.
