NATO Secretary General to visit Afghanistan Background NATO in Afghanistan News 20-21/07/2006 - NATO Afghanistan needs more international attention, says NATO Secretary General The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jaap de Joop Scheffer and Supreme Allied Commander General James Jones, are visiting Afghanistan today and tomorrow. As well as receiving an update from senior ISAF Commanders, the NATO delegation will meet with President Karzai and representatives of the international community in Kabul. The Secretary General and SACEUR will also visit selected Provincial Reconstruction Teams. During the visit there will be several media opportunities.
