NATO Secretary General to visit Denmark for Exercise Brilliant Mariner 06 Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, the NATO Secretary General, will travel to Esbjerg , Denmark on Thursday, 30 th March 2006 . The Secretary General will observe the NATO Exercise Brilliant Mariner 06, a major exercise to provide combat readiness and certification training for the maritime forces of the NATO Response Force. It takes place in the German bight, the North Sea , Skagerak , Kattegat and adjacent territorial waters from 24 th March until 6 th April 2006 . The Secretary General will attend briefings and demonstrations and visit the Spanish Flagship Castilla and the Canadian Air Defense Destroyer Athabascan. He will meet the press at 13.20 hrs.
