Statement by the NATO Secretary General on the terrorist attacks in Egypt Background NATO's contribution to the fight against terrorism On behalf of NATO, I express my condolences to the victims of the attack in Sharm-el-Sheikh and Nama Bay and to the Egyptian government. These attacks demonstrate that people of all nations and of all faiths are victims of the indiscrimate threat of terrorism. They also confirm the need for the international community to stand together to defend against this threat. NATO stands ready to deepen our relations with Egypt, our Mediterranean Dialogue partner, in our common efforts to combat terrorism.
