Press Release (2004)160 22 Nov. 2004 |
Rescue System display at NATO HQ Today, Monday 22 November 2004, a Czech Integrated Rescue System is being displayed at the NATO parking. The exhibit will be opened at 14.00 hours by the Czech Ambassador to NATO H.E. Mr. Karel Kovanda and NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Ambassador Adam Kobieracki. The Czech Integrated Rescue System displayed is designed for the coordination of rescue and clean-up operations. It has three components: a Field Hospital, a Decontamination Station and a Command Centre. The Field Hospital is equipped with a triage station and can provide intensive care to patients in need. The hospital, which is also equipped with a laboratory and radiology equipment, is designed for world-wide use and is rapidly deployable. A rapidly deployable decontamination system, also part of the display, is designed for clean-up operations at the scene an incident, where chemical agents are dispersed. Personnel in such a decontamination unit will work permanently in protective clothing. Decontamination is necessary before patients can be admitted to the field hospital. The Field Hospital and the Decontamination Unit are complemented
with a Command component, which will coordinate the actions and will
responsible for providing information. |
