NATO Secretary General to visit Romania and Bulgaria The Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will visit Romania and Bulgaria on Thursday and Friday 13 and 14 May 2004. In Romania, the Secretary General will meet the President of Romania H.E. Ioan Iliescu, the Prime Minister H.E. Adrian Nastase, the Minister of Defence H.E. Ioan Mircea Pascu and the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mircea Geoana. During his visit, the Secretary General will also give an address to the two chambers of the Romanian Parliament in joint session and deliver a speech to a meeting organised by the National School of Administrative and Political Studies and “Casa NATO – Euro-Atlantic Council Romania”. In Bulgaria, the Secretary General will meet the President of Bulgaria H.E. Georgi Parvanov, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria H.E. Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha, the Minister of Defence H.E. Nikolay Svinarov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Solomon Passy, as well as the speaker of the National Assembly.
