NATO Secretary General to visit Berlin 31 March 2004 The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Berlin on 31 March 2004 in order to attend the International Conference "Afghanistan and the International Community - a Partnership for the Future". He will participate in the opening of the conference and the working session "The Political Perspective for Afghanistan". He will also meet President Karzai in order to discuss progress in political developments in Afghanistan as well as NATO’s further engagement. The Secretary General's schedule is subject to change.
