NATO Secretary General to visit Spain and Portugal 26 - 27 February 2004 The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Madrid and to Lisbon from 26 - 27 February 2004. In Madrid, the Secretary General will have an audience with King Juan Carlos. He will meet with Prime Minister José Maria Aznar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Palacio and Minister of Defence Federico Trillo. In Lisbon, the NATO Secretary General will meet with the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio, with Prime Minister José Manuel Durão Barroso, Minister of Foreign Affairs Teresa Patrício Gouveia and Minister of Defence Paulo Portas.
