Defence Ministers Meeting

Information

(a) Defence Ministers

The North Atlantic Council in Defence Ministers session will meet on 1 December 2003 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The Defence Planning Committee and the Nuclear Planning Group in Defence Ministers session will also meet on 1 December, as will the NATO-Russia Permanent Joint Council in Defence Ministers session. The ministerial meetings of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Defence Ministers session and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in Defence Ministers session are foreseen on 2 December.

(b) Foreign Ministers

The North Atlantic Council will meet at the level of Foreign Ministers on 4 and 5 December 2003 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The North Atlantic Council and the Political and Security Committee of the European Union at the level of Foreign Ministers will also meet at the Justus Lipsius Building in Brussels. The NATO-Russia Council, The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council and the NATO-Ukraine Commission will meet at the level of Foreign Ministers at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Accreditation

  1. Journalists holding NATO permanent press cards need not apply for accreditation.
  2. Correspondents not in possession of a NATO permanent press card will be permitted to the press zone on presentation of numbered individual NATO press passes. Advance application for this accreditation may only be made electronically. Only a 3,5 x 4,5 cm passport-sized identity photograph in JPEG format will be accepted. Requests for accreditation must be submitted before Thursday, 27 November 2003 . Requests received after that date will not be processed.

NATO press passes will not be mailed to applicants. They may be collected from the accreditation desk in the press zone as from 14:00 hours Friday, 28 November 2003.

Details of the media programme will be available upon accreditation.

Parking

Correspondents are advised that they will not be able to bring vehicles into the NATO compound and will have to park their cars on the East Parking lot, next to the NATO Site entrance.
