Foreign Ministers Meeting Madrid - 3-4 June 2003 1. Information Meetings at Foreign Ministers level of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and between NATO Foreign Ministers and the Foreign Ministers of Partner Countries will be held in Madrid on 3 – 4 June. The Palacio Municipal de Congresos, at the Campo de las Naciones, is the venue where working sessions are going to be held. The Media Centre will be located in the same building. 2. Accreditation and security A “JPG” ID card format photograph must be attached to the request for accreditation form, which must be duly filled out and returned before Friday, 23 May 2003, to the following address:
Please bear in mind that requests received after Friday, 23 May 2003, and those to which a “JPG” format ID-size photograph is not attached will be rejected. Previously requested passes will be issued in person at the Media Accreditation Centre, “Sala Lisboa”, Hotel Novotel, Calle Amsterdam No.3, close to the Palacio Municipal de Congresos (Campo de las Naciones, as of 10:30 am on Saturday, 31 May 2003. In order to be issued a pass, media representatives will need to produce
their passport / national identity card and press card and a letter of
introduction from the media they represent , featuring their particulars. In case of loss of a personal media pass, the Accreditation Centre must be notified immediately, “Sala Lisboa” - Hotel Novotel, otherwise a new pass will not be issued. Media representatives are informed that security staff at the Media Centre will examine and inspect all personal items or work equipment carried by the journalist. In order to prevent crowds, media representatives are requested to arrive in good time to go through the mandatory security checks smoothly, thus, helping the law enforcement officers and, also, the organization staff to do their job. 3. Sufficient space will be allocated to the Media Centre, which will be equipped with adequate telecommunications and broadcasting facilities for all media. Television and radio booths will be available upon prior request to the host broadcasters: TVE (Televisión Española) and RNE (Radio Nacional de España). 4. News conferences and press briefings All press conferences and briefings will take place at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos. 5. Transport - parking - visas Metro (Line 8) or taxi are advised for transportation to and from the
Airport. Metro: Line 8 There will be no parking facilities in areas adjacent to the Media Centre. 6. Accommodation Viajes El Corte Inglés S.A. is the travel agency in charge of managing the reservations for the hotels selected by the Organization of the North Atlantic Council Ministerial Meeting. The hotels allocated to the Media are: Hotel Abba Castilla Plaza****, Hotel Silken Puerta de Castilla**** and Hotel Meliá Castilla****.
