Secretary General Lord Robertson The Secretary General of NATO and the 19 Permanent Representatives of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) will visit the United States from Monday, 17 June to Friday, 21 June 2002. They will first participate in a SACLANT (Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic) Seminar on "Transformation in Action" in Norfolk, Virginia. The Secretary General and the Council will then visit Washington, DC where they will meet Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and other senior Administration officials. They will also meet leading Congressional figures. On Thursday morning, 20 June, the American Enterprise Institute's New Atlantic Initiative will host the Secretary General for a strategic dialogue on Tackling Terror: NATO's New Mission.
