New Director appointed to the NATO Information and Documentation Centre In Kyiv The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Lord Robertson, today announced the appointment of Mr. Michel Duray as Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Kyiv, Ukraine. He will succeed Mrs. Natalie Melnyczuk who is taking up a post at NATO Headquarters. He will assume his official duties in the second half of April.The Centre was inaugurated in accordance with the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded on 7th May 1997 between NATO and the Government of Ukraine on the establishment of a NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine. On 9th July 1997, the signature of the Charter on a Distinctive Partnership in Madrid, has significantly reinforced the level of co-operation between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and Ukraine. The mission of the Centre is to provide information on NATO, and security issues in general, to the Ukrainian public. |
