NATO Secretary General to Visit Bulgaria
28 February 2002

The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, will be travelling to Bulgaria on Thursday 28 February 2002. This trip is part of a round of visits to all countries aspiring to NATO membership in the context of the Membership Action Plan. Progress in preparations for possible accession to the Alliance will be the key theme of the Secretary General's discussions.

During his visit to Sofia, Lord Robertson will meet the President of Bulgaria H.E. Mr Georgi Parvanov, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria H.E. Mr Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha, the Minister of Defence H.E. Mr Nikolay Svinarov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr Solomon Passy, as well as the Speaker and Members of Parliament. On this occasion, he will also briefly meet with the participants of the annual Atlantic Club lunch.
