NATO Secretary General to visit Latvia and Lithuania The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, will be travelling to Latvia and Lithuania on 21-22 February. This trip is part of a round of visits to all countries aspiring to NATO membership in the context of the Membership Action Plan. Progress in preparations for possible accession to the Alliance will be the key theme of the Secretary General's discussions.During his visit to Riga on Thursday, 21 February, Lord Robertson will meet with the President of Latvia, Mrs. Vaira Vike-Freiberga, with the Prime Minister, Mr. Andris Berzins, as well as with Foreign Minister, Mr. Indulis Berzins, Defence Minister, Mr. Girst Valdis Kristovskis and with the Speaker and members of the parliament. During his visit to Vilnius on Friday, 22 February, the Secretary General will meet with the President of Lithuania, Mr. Valdas Adamkus, with the Prime Minister, Mr. Algirdas Brazauskas, as well as with Foreign Minister, Mr. Antanas Valionis, Defence Minister, Mr. Linas Linkevicius and with the Chairman and members of Parliament.
