Meeting
of the NATO-Russia Permanent Joint Council
at Ambassadorial level
The NATO-Russia Permanent Joint Council (PJC) at Ambassadorial
level met on Wednesday, 24 January 2001.
Following a briefing on the meeting of Military Representatives
under the auspices of the PJC held on 18 January 2001,
Ambassadors discussed the evolving situation in the FRY
and welcomed the continuing democratic changes. They exchanged
views on the NATO-Russia cooperation in the international
security presence in Kosovo (KFOR).
Looking forward to a further intensification of the NATO-Russia
dialogue and cooperation in the coming months, Ambassadors
agreed on steps to implement the PJC Work Programme for
2001, adopted at the PJC meeting at the level of Foreign
Ministers on 15 December 2000.
At Ambassadorial level, the PJC will meet again on 28
February 2001.
