Media Advisory

1. Information

Defence Ministers of NATO will hold an informal meeting at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday, 26 September 2001 under the chairmanship of the NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson of Port Ellen.

2. Accreditation and Security Checks

  1. Journalists holding NATO permanent press passes need not apply for accreditation.
  2. Requests for accreditation for the meeting in Naples that had been returned to the Press and Media office remain valid.

Press passes will be available for collection from 08:30 am on Wednesday, 26 September, at the NATO site entrance. A photographic proof of identity (ID card or passport) and an official press card (or letter of accreditation from a recognized media organization) should be presented and must be shown at any time upon request of security personnel.

All media representatives are informed that security personnel at the Media Centre will examine and may test equipment and personal effects carried onto the site.

3. Programme

The meeting will start in the middle of the morning.
A detailed programme will be available at the Press and Media Service Information desk.

4. Parking

All media representatives are advised that it will not be possible to park their vehicles inside the NATO compound. A shuttle bus will be in service between Parking area Z, Avenue du Bourget, outside the NATO compound, and the site entrance. The shuttle service will operate from 08:30 to 23:00 hrs.
