Seminar on Co-operation in Peace-keeping: Ljubljana, 13-14 October 2000A Seminar on "Political/Military Tools for Conflict Prevention within the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) /Partnership for Peace Programme" will take place in Ljubljana from 13 to 14 October 2000. It will be supported by the EAPC's Ad Hoc Group on Co-operation in Peacekeeping, which brings together NATO Allies and members of the Partnership for Peace Programme. The Seminar will develop suggestions on concrete ways for the EAPC to contribute to conflict prevention, while making the best possible use of links with other international organisations. The Seminar will be organised by Slovenia in co-operation with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and NATO. It will be opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Mr Mitja Drobnic, the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Mr Victor Gaber, Mrs. Nancy Aly Raphel, Ambassador of the USA to Slovenia (NATO Contact Point Embassy) and NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Klaus-Peter Klaiber. Dr. Elisabeth Rehn, former Minister of Defence of Finland and former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will introduce the theme of the discussion. Among the participants there will be representatives of NATO and Partner Countries as well as international organisations such as the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe, the European Union, the Conflict Prevention Centre of the United Nations in Skopje and the International Centre on Conflict and Negotiation, a non-governmental organisation based in Tbilisi.
