Statement by the Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana, on the Brcko Arbitration The Secretary General of NATO, Dr. Javier Solana welcomes the decision of the Independent Arbitrator, Mr. Roberts Owen on the future status of Brcko. He recalls that both sides involved have accepted that the arbitration would be final and binding. The Secretary General calls on them to honour this undertaking and to respect the Arbitrator's decision which has been taken after a thorough examination of all the factors and extensive and careful consultations with all sides. SFOR has made all necessary preparations to ensure the maintenance of a secure environment in and around Brcko and expects the full cooperation of all involved.
