NATO Summit

DATE AND PLACE
Meetings will take place in the A. Mellon Auditorium in the Federal Triangle in Washington D.C. on 23 - 25 April, 1999.
MEDIA ADVISORY
- MEDIA FACILITIES
The Media Centre will be located at the International Trade Centre (ITC), in the Ronald Reagan Building, within walking distance of the Mellon Auditorium.
- ACCREDITATION
Applications for accreditation should be made in writing and include the following :
- Letter of introduction from the editor or manager on the news organization letter head.
- Media accreditation form (.PDF/4Kb).
- Photocopy of passport or national identity document.
- Two recent colour identity photographs.
Applications shoud be sent to the following address before 1 March 1999.

- CREDENTIAL COLLECTION AND SECURITY
Press credentials may be collected at the Foreign Press Centre until 20 April. As from 21 April, they may be collected at the Media Centre located in the International Trade Centre (ITC) in the Ronald Reagan Building.
All media representatives are informed that security personnel at the Media Centre will examine and may test equipment and personal effects carried onto the site. To avoid delays, media representatives must arrive in time to be able to clear the security checks.

The Media Centre will be opened from 21 April until 26 April.

Cell phones will be available for rent at the Media Centre.
- VISAS
Media representatives from all countries except Canada will need a visa for entering the United States of America. We recommend starting this process as soon as possible as it may take weeks.

Remark : A number of embassies in Washington D.C. have already made block reservations for some of their country media. Media representatives should contact their own authorities concerning these reserved rooms.
- TRANSPORT
Media representatives should use their own means of transportation to and from airports. Access to the Media Centre inside the Summit perimetre will be :
- by subway - "Federal Triangle" metro station,
- by taxi.
Many streets surrounding the Summit perimetre will be closed to traffic.
- PARKING
There will be no parking facilities.

A detailed programme and media briefing material will be available on accreditation.
