NADC Seminar On Coordination and Cooperation between Civil Administrations and Air Defence during Humanitarian and Peace Support Operations
Under the aegis of the NATO Air Defence Committee (NADC), a seminar will take place in the French Air Force Academy at Salon de Provence, France from 6 October to 9 October 1998 hosted by the French Authorities. The Seminar is organised in the context of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC)/Partnership for Peace (PfP) Programme and the NADC's Cooperative Air Defence Programme. The theme of the seminar is "Coordination and Cooperation between Civil Administrations and Air Defence During Humanitarian and Peace Support Operations".
Experts from eight NATO nations, thirteen Partner nations and associated military and civilian agencies are scheduled to participate in the seminar which is the sixth seminar in a series hosted by NATO and Partner nations.
Amongst the topics to be presented and discussed are:
- Civil-Military Relations & Humanitarian Operations
- A National Approach to Peace Support Operations
- National Support to UN Operations
- NATO Civil-Military Airspace Management Organization
The presentations and exchange of views on these topics will contribute to a common understanding on issues related to civil-military airspace coordination and control during peace support and humanitarian operations. These issues are particularly relevant for NATO and Partners during this period of increased operations in support of United Nations' mandates.
Bulgaria will host the next Seminar in June 1999 on "Multi-national, multi-system Air Defence Training".
