NATO Secretary General to visit Austria The Secretary General of NATO, Mr. Javier Solana, will pay an official visit to Austria on Thursday and Friday, 16-17 January 1997. During his visit, he will meet with the Federal President, Mr. Thomas Klestil, the Federal Chancellor, Mr. Franz Vranitzky, Vice Chancellor and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wolfgang Schüssel, and the Federal Minister for Defence, Mr. Werner Fasslabend. He will also meet with the President of the National Council (Parliament), Mr. Heinz Fischer, and members of different parliamentary groups. In the late afternoon of 16th January, Mr. Solana will deliver a speech at the Federation of Austrian Industries. MEDIA ADVISORY The NATO Secretary General together with Minister Schüssel will meet the press on 16 January at 11.15 at the "Grauer Ecksalon" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna.
