NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Science and Technology Policy,
Tashkent, 23-25 September, 1996
A NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Globalization of Science
and Technology:
A Way for CIS Countries to New Markets will take place in
Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This workshop will focus on problems of science policy related to
the preservation of scientific and technological resources and support for
innovation in CIS countries, and in particular in Central Asian Republics where these issues are of
particular concern at this time.
Experts from NATO and Cooperation Partner countries will exchange
views and experiences on policy matters, and address such topics
as: strategy for participation in global markets, organisation of
innovation activity, university-industry relations, science
parks, information systems for technology transfer, advanced
communication technologies and networking policies, international
cooperation and integration in international programmes.
The meeting will be co-organised by the State Committee for
Science and Technology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, by
Consorzio Roma Ricerche, Italy, and by the Association
for the Promotion of Small Innovation Enterprises (AMIP), Russian
Federation.
Co-directors of the workshop are: Prof. Carlo Corsi (Rome, Italy)
and Prof. Ali Akhunov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). For further
