NATO Advanced Networking Workshop

in Budapest, Hungary, 26-30 August, 1996

An Advanced Networking Workshop aimed at training top level computer network experts from the Cooperation Partner academic community will take place in Budapest from 26-30 August. The NATO-sponsored Workshop is organized by the Central and Eastern European Networking Association.

The development of networks in Central and Eastern European countries is hampered by the lack of highly qualified network managers, researchers and trainers, as well as the lack of the basic Internet know-how. As a sponsor of this Workshop, NATO aims to speed progress in the wider use of the Internet in scientific research.

Approximately 80 academics from 21 countries will attend. Key speakers will cover such themes as user support, training, information sources, available systems, network organization and management, network security, communication infrastructure, and VSAT connectivity.

Co-directors of the workshop are: Prof. Richard Astro from Drexel University, Philadelphia, United States tel: int'l (215) 895-2200, fax: int'l (215) 895-1056, e-mail gdprov@dunxl.ocs.drexel.edu, and Dr Jacek Gajewski from Warsaw University, Poland, tel: int'l 48-2-628-1893, fax: int'l -48-2-629-4309, e-mail: gajewski@fuw.edu.pl.
