             NATO DEFENCE MINISTERS MEETING

             SEVILLE, 28-30 September 1994

                SECOND MEDIA ADVISORY

GENERAL INFORMATION

     The meeting will be chaired by the Acting Secretary
General, Ambassador Sergio Balanzino.

ACCREDITATION

     Journalists are reminded that only those who have
sent the "request for accreditation" properly filled in
will be accredited. Accreditation cards may
be collected at the Press Centre in Seville, Isle of
Cartuja, from 16:00 to 20:00 on 27 September, and from
08:00 on 28 September on presentation of an ID
card/passport and professional card. Journalists are
asked to bring two photographs (ID card size) when
collecting their passes.

p.m.           Arrival of the Acting Secretary General
and Ministers at the Hotel "Alcora".
          Limited coverage for electronic media from
roped-off area.

17:30          Press Conference held by the Spanish
Minister of Defence.
          Open coverage at the Press Centre.

20:00          Arrival of Conference participants at a
reception offered by the Spanish Minister of Defence at
HQ South Region Army Command ("Capitania").
          Open coverage for media at Plaza de Espana
from roped-off area.
          Limited coverage at the entrance for official
welcome of Ministers.
          Buses will depart from the Press Centre around
19:15.

21:15          Reception offered by the Spanish Ministry
of Defence to all accredited media at the Hotel
"Principe de Asturias".
          Open to all accredited media.

29 September 1994
09:30          Opening of the Conference at the Hotel
"Alcora". Opening speech by the Acting Secretary General
and the Spanish Minister of Defence.
          Limited media coverage. The event will be
transmitted live to the Press Centre.
          Buses will depart from the Press Centre around
08:45.

12:30          "Family Portrait" at the Hotel "Alcora".
          Limited media coverage. It will be transmitted
live to the Press Centre.
          Buses will depart from the Press Centre around
11:45.

30 September 1994
12:30          Press conference held by the Acting
Secretary General.
          Open coverage at the Press Centre.

Ministers might hold national press conferences at any
time - they will be announced by the public address
system at the Press Centre.

PRESS CENTRE

Press Centre opening hours will be:

Tuesday,   27 September  16:00-20:00    (Only for
accreditation)
Wednesday, 28 September  08:00-22:00
Thursday,  29 September  08:00-22:00
Friday,    30 September  08:00-18:00

     The written press area will be equipped with
typewriters and photocopiers. The Centre will have an
incoming telephone call service (phone:
(Int'l)-34-5-446.04.92) and a paging system. Telephones
and faxes with international lines and direct
transmission facility for personal computers will also
be available. (These devices will operate by telephone
card which can be bought in the Centre).

     The Centre will provide the media with a telephoto
service (positive and negative) and a dark room with
facilities to develop negatives.

     Spanish TV (TVE) will provide an international
broadcasting service in the Centre, giving the
opportunity of carrying out live broadcasts, and an
editing room.

     The Centre will provide TV and radio stations with
feedpoints to record the limited coverage events.
Soundproof cabins equipped with telephones will
be available for radio stations.

LIMITED COVERAGES

     Requests for participation in these events
("pools") should be requested at the Press Center
(Phone: 446.34.46). Participants will be informed and
will receive "pool cards" also at the Press Centre well
in advance.

TRANSPORT

     The organizers have planned to install a "Meeting
Point" for journalists from 27 September, 16:00 at
Seville airport and transport to Hotel "Principe
de Asturias". There will be a shuttle service between
the Press Centre and Hotel "Principe de Asturias" on 28,
29 and 30 September.

     Journalists are reminded that access to any event
taking place out of the Press Centre will only be
granted to those media reaching the site in the
official buses, which will always depart from the Press
Centre. Access by other means will not be allowed.

ACCOMMODATION

     For those media wishing to have accommodation in
the Hotel "Principe de Asturias", prices are 14,000 pta.
for a double room (instead of 13,000 pta, as stated in
the first advisory) and 11,000 pta. for a single room
(plus V.A.T. in both cases) per night, breakfast
included.
