Chapter 8: Consumer Logistics
Introduction
801. It has been formally recognized (1) that nations and NATO Authorities have a collective responsibility for logistic
support of NATO multinational operations. The actual logistic
resources, whether they are logistic support units, supplies or
service capabilities, remain, in general, national assets under
national ownership. Very few NATO stocks or supplies, or equipment are "owned" by NATO.
802. Logistics staffs at all levels work in a constant effort
to harmonize all of the requirements; enhance standardization
of equipment, materiel and procedures; establish procedures
for support of forces; and, in essence maximise all
possible cooperative efforts between nations.
