It should be noted that the Council agreed in 1987 that NATO nations should consider the involvement of NAMSO whenever decisions concerning cooperative logistics support arrangements have to be made. In 1991 the Council also established the policy that all proposals to deviate from the general policy of having logistic support provided by NAMSA are to be discussed by the Senior NATO Logisticians' Conference (SNLC) or the CNAD, prior to submission to the Council.
