General Giuseppe MARANI
Brigadier General Giuseppe MARANI was born in Civitavecchia (Italy) 29 July 1948, he joined the Airforce Accadeny in 1968 graduating as Second Lieutenant in 1971. In the year 1972/73 he went through Pilot Training in the United States at Laredo AFB. After completion of the Pilot Training he was assigned to a Strike unit, 102 Squadron in Rimini. In 1977 he was assigned to the Italian Flight Test Center and went through the Empire Test Pilots School in the UK. He served as a Test Pilot until 1986 when, after having commanded the Flight Squadron, he was assigned at the Air Force Staff Research And Developement Branch. From 1991 to 1993 he has been Wing Commander of the 3 Wing (Recce Attack) in Villafranca. In 1993 he went back to the Air Staff, same Branch that he departed in 1996 to become Chief of Staff at 5ATAF. At the end of 1998 he was posted at Airforce Logistic Command Planning and Operations Branch in Rome.
Brigadier General MARANI took Junior and Senior Staff College Courses. In his career as pilot he has flown 3200 flying hours.
