Position held:
  • From July 1972 until September 1973, CDR MALTINTI was assigned to the 42nd Fast Torpedo Boat Squadron, in Brindisi, as Operation Officer.

  • From September 1973 to 23 August 1992, he was assigned to the San Marco Battalion (the Landing Force of Italian Navy) while he held following positions:
    • Rifle Platoon Commander
    • Company Commander
    • Operation Officer
    • Executive Officer of the Tactical Group
    • Commanding Officer of the Training Center
    • Commanding Officer of the San Marco Tactical Group (SMTG)

    During this period Cdr. Maltinti was employed in Beirut (Lebanon) deployment from 16 September 1982 to 23 October 1993 as San Marco BN Ops Officer (S-3).

  • From 24 August 1993 to 3 November 1994 he was assigned to the Third Naval Division (the Amphibious Force of Italian Navy) while he served as Deputy Chief of Staff. While assigned to the Third Naval Division, Cdr. Maltinti also participate to Operation Restore Hope in Mogadishu, Somalia, from 12 Dec 1992 to 10 Feb 1993, as San Marco Bn X.O., and from 18 Feb 1994 to 6 April 1994, as COMGRUPNAV 25 Amphibious Officer.

  • From 4 November 1994 Cdr. Maltinti reported to COMSTRIKFORSOUTH, Naples. In these last three-and-half years, Cdr. Maltinti, as member of the Amphibious Division, was involved in the planning of major NATO and PfP exercises. He acted as Project Officer for Ex. Cooperative Partner 95 and 97, Destined Glory 96 and 98 and Dynamic Mix 97. He also served two tours in Sarajevo: from 22 April to 31 May 96, as JOC Land Desk Officer and CSFS NLO to IFOR, and from 13 Jan 97 to 26 Jan 97, as CSFS NLO to SFOR.

  • Since 20 august 1998 CDR Maltinti is assigned to the Combined Join Planning Staff (CJPS), at SHAPE, Mons as Staff Officer in the Operations Planning Section (CJPLO).

Marital status:
Cdr. Maltinti is married, since 10 Oct 1974, with former Giulia CESARIA. They have two children, Marco 24 years old and Alessia 20 years old.
