Lieutenant-General Christopher J.R.Davis, CD

Lieutenant-General Christopher Davis, a native of Winnipeg. Manitoba, enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1975.

Commissioned as an Armour officer, Lieutenant-General Davis served with the Royal Canadian Dragoons and the 8lh Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) in a variety of regimental appointments in Canada and with NATO forces in Germany. He has commanded soldiers from troop to formation level to include command of the Armour School at the Combat Training Centre. Canadian Forces Base Gage town from 1993 to 1995 and subsequent command of the Combat Training Centre from August 2003 to July 2005.

Lieutenant-GeneraI Davis has held a number of key staff appointments. Most notable were Chief of Staff, Canadian Contingent United Nations Protection Force in the former Yugoslavia in 1995, Chief of Staff of the Multi-National Division (South-West) as part of the NATO Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina from August 2002 to July 2003, Director of Land Requirements, National Defence Headquarters, Director of Operations, Defence/InternationaI Security, Privy Council Office and Director General International Security Policy, National Defence Headquarters.

Lieutenant-GeneraI Davis is a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College, the Army Technical Staff Course (Royal Military College of Science, Cranfield University, Shrivenham, UK), the Advanced Military Studies Course and the National Security Studies Course. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Manitoba.

Lieutenant-GeneraI Davis was appointed the Canadian Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee in Permanent Session at NATO Headquarters Brussels in August 2008.

Lieutenant-General Davis is married to Ms Gail Currie.
