Coronavirus response: NATO provides medical supplies to the Republic of Moldova

In recent weeks, the Republic of Moldova received more than 6 tonnes of personal protective equipment - including gloves and isolation gowns – as well as 3 ventilators and 10,000 COVID-19 antigen tests from NATO’s Pandemic Response Stockpile.

Coronavirus Response: NATO and Hungary donate ventilators to the Republic of Moldova

The Republic of Moldova has received twenty ventilators from NATO’s Pandemic Response Stockpile to help the country respond to coronavirus infections. NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and Hungary coordinated the donation in response to a request by Moldova for COVID-19 assistance.

NATO delivers IT equipment to the Republic of Moldova

On 29 March 2021, an online event marked the delivery of information technology (IT) equipment from NATO to Moldova’s Ministry of Defence. The IT equipment will be installed in the Ministry’s Transformation Directorate. It will contribute to move the Moldovan defence transformation effort forward.

Coronavirus response: NATO support to the Republic of Moldova

On 29 March the Republic of Moldova received 100,000 face masks (FFP2) from NATO’s Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in response to Moldova’s request for international assistance. It was made possible with financial contributions by Luxembourg and Norway. The transportation from Luxembourg to the Republic of Moldova was made possible through the in-kind offer from Romania and carried out by the Romanian Air Force. The transportation was coordinated by the Standing Joint Logistics Support Group at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).

Coronavirus response: NATO support to the Republic of Moldova

On 24 February, the Republic of Moldova received 25,000 disposable suits for biological protection (Tyvek 600+) from NATO’s Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in response to Moldova’s request for international assistance.

Cyber Incident Response Capability established in the Republic of Moldova with NATO support

Today (21 January 2021), NATO inaugurated a new Cyber Incident Response Capability for the Moldovan Armed Forces. This capability was established with support from the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme and in cooperation with the NATO Information and Communication Agency (NCIA) through a multi-year project. It will help to minimize any threat resulting from cyber incidents, provide quick and efficient recovery and prevent similar incidents in the future. The inauguration was marked through a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony.
